Joint International Staff Training Week: Celebrating University Anniversaries Co-organised by the University of Padua and the University of St Andrews - Free, registration required.

The University of Padua and the University of St Andrews invite colleagues to participate in an online International Staff Training Week on the topic of ‘Celebrating University Anniversaries'. The event builds on the 800th anniversary celebrations of the University of Padua coming in 2022 and the 600th anniversary celebrations at St Andrews in 2013.

Administrative and academic staff members from Higher Education Institutions, students and interested people are welcome to watch any of the sessions of this four day event.

Tuesday 8 June, 9am to 12 noon
Re-telling our history: heritage, libraries and collections

The Tuesday is dedicated to Libraries, Museums and Collections. In this session, you will from staff working in these areas at Padua and St Andrews. Topics include:

  • New museums at Padua and St Andrews
  • Libraries and regeneration
  • Museums, sustainability, climate change and community outreach
  • Digital storytelling with museum objects
  • Virtual visits and tours, including the UNESCO-listed Botanical garden at Padua; the Palazzo Bo, and the King James Library
  • Collections related to the astronomer James Gregory
  • Using university collections to tell the story of university history during anniversary celebrations.

Presentations will be followed by a panel discussion.
