Third Conference on Re-thinking Female Entrepreneurs: Exploring qualitative research methods and theoretical frameworks

Building on previous successful events held in 2018 and 2020 on Re-thinking female entrepreneurship, the School of Management is pleased to announce a two-day conference on qualitative research methods and theoretical frameworks to advance the research on the intersectionality of female entrepreneurs.

The conference will include a number of workshops and presentations on different qualitative research methods as well as theoretical frameworks. The sessions will be delivered by prominent scholars who have a strong track record of multiple publications in leading journals.

Professor Claire Leitch -- Professor of Entrepreneurial Leadership, Lancaster University
Professor Ruth Woodfield --Assistant Vice-Principal (Diversity) and Professor of Equalities and Organisation, University of St Andrews

As part of the conference, early career researchers (ECRs) and doctoral students will have the opportunity to present their work and receive feedback from senior scholars.

The selection of ECR presenters will be based on an abstract of 500 words. The deadline for submission is 15 February 2020.

Scholars who are more advanced in their career are also welcome to attend as well as practitioners, entrepreneurs and women's organisations.

The atmosphere will be informal and collegial.

This conference is funded by the British Academy as part of the Rising Star Engagement Award (BARSEA).

Thanks to the generous support of the British Academy, the School of Management is able to offer the conference free of charge with lunch and refreshments included as well as a few funded places for ECRs and doctoral students.

Successful submissions from ECRs and PhD students will be considered for the scholarship. Funded ECRs are expected to attend the two full days.

Submission of Abstract (ECRs): 11.59pm, 15 February 2020
Notification of abstract acceptance: 5pm, 18 February 2020
Conference date: 17 and 18 March 2020

Registration for the conference is from 10am and the conference will start at 10.45am on the first day (17 March) and finish at 5pm. The second day of the conference (18 March) will start at 9am and will finish at 3pm. A detailed conference agenda will be circulated in due course.
