Playwriting Masterclass with Inklight

Join Inklight, St Andrews' creative writing society, for an interactive playwriting workshop inspired by the Wardlaw Museum's War, destruction and reformation: the early years of Mary, Queen of Scots exhibition.

Explore themes of power, identity and change as you step into the past through creative storytelling. On arrival, you'll be assigned a character and invited to write or devise scenes from their point of view. Working together, participants will develop ideas, experiment with improvisation, and bring historical moments and personal voices to life on the page and stage.

No experience necessary just curiosity, creativity and a love of stories.

The workshop is free, but booking is required.

This event forms part of War, destruction and reform: the early years of Mary, Queen of Scots, a public programme accompanying the exhibition on view at the Wardlaw Museum from Saturday 7 March to Sunday 20 September 2026.

A varied programme of events, including family events, accompanies the exhibition.
