People make history Local history day
Celebrate the rich history of our local area at the Wardlaw Museum's local history day.
Join Libraries and Museums for a special event where local history groups, societies and enthusiasts will gather throughout the galleries to share stories, research, displays and discoveries about our community's past.
Drop in any time between 12 noon and 4pm to meet your local history groups, explore the work they're doing, and chat with passionate historians about the people, places and events that shaped our town and region.
Browse stalls and tables hosted by community organisations, discover hidden gems from the archives, and get inspired by fascinating local stories. Whether you're a lifelong local, a history enthusiast, or simply curious to learn more, there'll be something for everyone to enjoy.
This event forms part of War, destruction and reform: the early years of Mary, Queen of Scots, a public programme accompanying the exhibition on view at the Wardlaw Museum from Saturday 7 March to Sunday 20 September 2026.
