Open Night at the Observatory

All telescopes will be running for the Observatory biannual Open Night, including the 57-year-old James Gregory Telescope, Scotland's largest.

Weather permitting, we will observe the Moon, Mars, star clusters, nebula and galaxies. The resident astronomers will be around to show the night sky and talk about their research. The Twin Dome will be open with an exhibit at the boundaries between art and science.

In the spring of 2019, the University Observatory celebrates its 80th anniversary – one more reason to look back at the scientific heritage and look forward to the next developments.
