Knowledge and Practice thematic research group meeting 'Sanctifying or forfeiting the soul': an institutional theory perspective on the dimensions and strategies of mission drift

This meeting of the Department of Management's Knowledge and Practice thematic research group (K&P) will welcome David Falk from the Stockholm School of Economics, who will speak on the topic, ‘”Sanctifying or forfeiting the soul”: an institutional theory perspective on the dimensions and strategies of mission drift'.

David Falk's research interests include include hybridity, organisational governance, and management, with a particular focus on nonprofit organisations. This presentation will be based on a study of the Church of Sweden, a former state church, and will discuss his finding that mission drift in nonprofit organisations with a diverse range of stakeholders cannot be entirely avoided, making the capacity to endure conflicts associated with mission drift a critical component of mission alignment.

Further details about the seminar have been circulated to group members, who are asked to contact K&P coordinators with any queries.
