Department of Finance Seminar: Dr Jayshree Johnstone, St Andrews Innovation Impact seminar: external engagement for academics
Dr Jayshree Johnstone joined the St Andrews Innovation team in January 2022. She holds a PhD in Industrial Design from Loughborough University and has a background in Product Design Engineering and Industrial Design. Before joining St Andrews, she worked in Technology Transfer at Loughborough University and later in Business Development and Technology Transfer at Newcastle University.
Jayshree, now a Business Associate with St Andrews Innovation, is passionate about bridging the gap between academia and industry, supporting academics in translating research into practical applications and helping businesses connect with university expertise. At St Andrews, she focuses on helping researchers across the University build and strengthen non-academic partnerships.
In this session, Jayshree will share insights into:
- strategies for industry and partnership engagement
- networks and support organisations that help identify external partners
- the role of the St Andrews Innovation and Research Business Development team
The talk will be of particular interest to academic and professional services staff, as well as PhD researchers, who are keen to develop collaborations with external partners, enhance the visibility of their research or activities, and explore pathways to impact.
