Emulation and Conflict in the Zhuangzi public lecture - Free
In this lecture, Dr De Reu will explore the Zhuangzi's critique of emulation against the backdrop of the text's concern with averting conflict and harm.
Dr Wim De Reu is Associate Professor in the Department of Philosophy at National Taiwan University. His interests include early Chinese views on language and human interaction, the theory and practice of argumentation, and cognitive linguistics. He has published studies on early Chinese paradoxes, the role of metaphors in the construction of early Chinese philosophy, coexistence and ethics in the Zhuangzi, and the structure and argumentation of later Zhuangzi chapters.
This lecture will be followed by a seminar. All welcome!
