Business School research development with Professor Kathy Lund Dean Ethics in the academy
This session continues the series of research and pedagogical workshops with Professor Kathy Lund Dean, Honorary Professor with the Knowledge and Practice research group (K&P) in the Department of Management. The topic will be ‘Ethics in the academy: navigating sticky issues in research, teaching and professional life'.
Being an academic comes with inherent ethical issues in practice. This session will offer training and guidance about how to think through and manage common ethical pitfalls, with a goal of building a community of practice by which ongoing ethical issues might be resolved.
Kathy Lund Dean's 2018 co-authored book, The Ethical Professor, will form the cornerstone of the discussion. Participants will come away with helpful models for identifying ethical issues in academic life, considering alternatives and outcomes, and deciding a best path forward.
Further details about the event have been circulated within the Business School. Tea break and lunch will be provided. Please respond to the invitation noting any dietary requirements.
