Working in the UK on a student visa Information session for new student visa holders

If you are you a new student visa holder and are unsure what rights you have to work in the UK, this information session is for you.

Hosted by the International Advice team, with input from the Careers team and the Students' Association's International Student Officer, the session is designed to support you in understanding your working rights and opportunities as a student visa holder. Whether you're considering part-time work, volunteering or planning ahead for internships, this session is a great place to start.

Our team will direct you to useful resources and the session will end with a question and answer (Q&A) session. The session will also feature input from the Careers team, who will cover information and guidance on insight weeks, internships and part-time work, and the International Student Officer Veronica Chiaravalli, a member of the International Students' Committee, who will share her volunteering experience and showcase volunteering opportunities through the St Andrews Students' Association.
