Whose Order?' An analysis of the relationship between Remote Warfare and Global Order Guest Speaker Dr Norma Rossi
This paper explores the relationship between remote warfare and global order and illustrates how different understandings of global order shape the ways we conceptualise its relationship with remote warfare. The paper illustrates this claim by charting this relationship through three perspectives—Westphalian sovereignty, Liberal International Order (LIO), and postcolonial critiques. This analysis shows that remote warfare exposes the complexities and tensions embedded within global order, demonstrating how it mirrors and disrupts established hierarchical dynamics within the international. The paper concludes that addressing this question necessitates a shift in analysis towards the ordering effects of remote warfare, emphasising the viewpoints of those most impacted by it.
