When language fades Festival of Languages - Pay what you can £6 or £4

Around one in 11 people over the age of 65 live with dementia, and many of us know how hard communication can become, especially in the later stages. In Dr Maggie Ellis's talk, you'll hear how language doesn't disappear, rather, it changes.

Through real-life examples, Maggie explores how tone, gesture, rhythm and even silence can carry meaning.  She will look at how we can still connect, understand and be understood, reminding us that communication is so much more than words.
