What is a truly ethical clothing supply chain? A talk from the University's Fairtrade cotton supplier

Andy Ashcroft, Co-Founder and Managing Director of Koolskools-SUstainable, the UK's only 100% Fairtrade cotton school uniform provider, returns to give a talk this Sustainability Week. SUstainable provides the University's Fairtrade cotton range, available in the University shop.

Andy will give a 30-minute talk offering insight into what constitutes a truly ethical clothing supply chain, from cotton seed to shop shelf. He will share footage from his recent trip to the cotton farmers and factories in India, where the Koolskools supply chain is based, highlighting the social impact emanating from their sustainable supply chain. He will also share details about Koolskools' Fairtrade education partnership with universities and schools.

There will be 15 minutes for discussion and questions, followed, at 3.45pm, by a workshop in collaboration with students from the School of Computer Science and from the University of Southampton to design and build Koolskools' website. St Andrews students interested in getting involved are welcome to join in. See the separate event details for the Koolskools website project.

This event is part of the wider programme for Sustainability Week.
