Understanding and Leveraging Intellectual Property SHAPEing St Andrews
This event is open to all researchers in the Arts Humanities and Social Science subjects.
The Research Business Development Team are delighted to invite you to an upcoming SHAPEing St Andrews event focused on a topic that's increasingly relevant across the Arts, Humanities, and Social Sciences—Intellectual Property (IP).
This in-person session is interactive and tailored for those working in the SHAPE disciplines (Social Sciences, Humanities, and the Arts for People and the Economy). Whether you're curating a digital archive, writing a monograph, composing music, or collaborating on public engagement, understanding how to protect and manage your work is key to ensuring its impact and longevity.
We'll explore:
– What IP means in the context of arts, humanities, and social sciences
– How to protect your original ideas and outputs
– Key things to consider when collaborating or sharing publicly
– How IP can support your research funding, visibility, and long-term legacy
This is a practical and discussion-based session, so please bring your questions, examples, or challenges—there'll be plenty of time for conversation and tailored advice.
You'll also have the opportunity to speak with colleagues from the Research Business Development and Technology Transfer Centre teams, who will be on hand to offer further support and guidance.
We look forward to seeing you there!
