Time for Change: Action not words Black History Month Conference

To kick off Black History month celebrations, the University's Afro-Caribbean Society will host a scpeical conference which will mark the contributions of Black people in the past and in the present.

There will be five speakers at the event: Patricia Janet Scotland, Baroness Scotland of Asthal, PC, KC (virtually); Dr Khadija Owusu; Councillor Graham Campbell; Jubemi Iyiku (Bemz the rapper) and Naana Otoo Oyortey.

Each of these speakers is actively working towards creating more equal, diverse and inclusive communities for people of Afro-Caribbean origin. After giving their individual takes on theme, they will form a panel and will answer questions from the audience.

The event is supported by the University Equality, Diversity and Inclusion team.
