The Syrian Conflict and the European Union -- Assessing Actorness and Policy (in)coherence CSS Teams Event

Title:
The Syrian Conflict and the European Union – Assessing Actorness and Policy (in)coherence

Over the past decade the EU has had to respond to two major conflicts at its margins: the Syrian Conflict and the Russia-Ukraine Conflict. And yet their policy reactions to both have reflected significant differences. This event explores those policy differences in the first two years of both wars, and what the EU's approach to the Syria Conflict tells us about the EU's actorness and global power.
