The Prehistory of Kilmartin Glen Dr Sharon Webb, former Curator, Kilmartin House Museum

From a Neolithic cursus monument to hundreds of rock art sites, a linear cairn cemetery and figurative art, the extraordinary range of archaeological sites and monuments found in and around Kilmartin Glen is recognised as an internationally important archaeological landscape.

This talk will focus on the Neolithic, Chalcolithic and Bronze Age archaeology, when communities living in and around Kilmartin Glen were developing a ritual and funerary centre. Dr Sharon Webb, former Curator of the Kilmartin House Museum, will discuss the latest finds and evidence, including the Duncraigaig deer carvings and rock art excavations at Carnassarie Farm.
