The End of the Afghan Campaign? Special Guest Speakers - Lieutenant General (Retired) Giles Patrick Hill and General (Retired) Mick Nicholson

Nearly three years have passed since the United States withdrew the last of its troops from Afghanistan, ending nearly twenty years of military presence and opening the door for the Taliban to regain control of the country. Reflecting on the widely criticized failures surrounding the withdrawal, its tragic aftermath, and the lessons learned for current and future conflicts, this event will provide ground-level insights into the end of the Afghanistan War from the perspective of two senior military professionals who were intimately involved in the final stages of the campaign.

Lieutenant General (Retired) Giles Patrick Hill, CB, CBE, served as the Deputy Commander of NATO's mission in Afghanistan and was the Assistant Chief of the Defence Staff (Defence Engagement) from 2017-2019. General (Retired) Mick Nicholson, served as the Commander of U.S. Forces-Afghanistan from 2016-2018 and of the 41-nation NATO-led Resolute Support Mission. He previously served as the commanding general of Allied Land Command, the headquarters for NATO land forces.
