The Dow Memorial Lecture: 'Alcohol -- a pandemic within a pandemic' Professor Sir Ian Gilmore MD (Cantab) FRCP
This year's Dow Memorial Lecture will be given by Professor Sir Ian Gilmore MD (Cantab) FRCP, Senior Advisor on Alcohol to the Royal College of Physicians (RCP), on ‘Alcohol — a pandemic within a pandemic'.
The joint St Andrews and University of Dundee event takes place every three years in memory of Professor David and Dr Agnes Dow, who received their medical training in Dundee before going on to assist in the education and training of students, and features speakers from different fields of medicine.
The memorial lecture will be introduced by Dean of Medicine, Professor David Crossman, and followed by a panel discussion with Sir Ian Gilmore; Professor Alex Baldacchino, Chair in Medicine at St Andrews; Professor Lindsey Kent, Deputy Head of the School of Medicine; Professor Peter Donnelly, Chair in Public Health at St Andrews; and Professor Rory McCrimmon, Dean (Teaching & Research) at Dundee's School of Medicine. A Q&A session will end the evening.
The event is free and everyone is welcome. No tickets required, entry is on a first come, first served basis.
