The Carnegie Corporation of New York was established by Andrew Carnegie in 1911 “to promote the advancement and diffusion of knowledge and understanding”. Today it continues to fulfil that mission, funding major programmes in such fields as education, democracy and international peace.
To celebrate its centenary, the Corporation established a ten-year programme of public lectures at Scotland's ancient universities: St Andrews, Aberdeen, Edinburgh and Glasgow. The programme will bring some of the world's most creative thinkers in the fields of the arts, sciences, education and international affairs to Scotland.
Doors open at 5.15pm for a 6pm start.
