Talk with French Senator Hélène Conway-Mouret

Come and join the French Society for a fascinating talk with French Senator Hélène Conway Mouret and the three conseillers consulaires, Christian Albuisson, Véronique Miller and Brigitte Guenier.

Many topics will be covered including the role of a senator, the challenge of representing the French abroad and how to support a French community living in another country, President Macron's pension reform and the current political crisis, Brexit and the French-British relationship, Scottish independence, the future of the socialist party, the war in Ukraine….

The talk is free and will be in English. Attendees will be able to ask questions to the Senator and the conseillers consulaires.

Hélène Conway-Mouret is Senator for French Citizens Living Abroad, Secretary of the Foreign Affairs, Defense and Armed Forces Committee, Former Vice-President of the Senate, and Former Minister in charge of French Citizens Living Abroad.

Christian Albuisson is President of the French Society of Charitable Works in Scotland. Véronique Miller is Teacher of French as a Foreign Language at the University of Glasgow and at the Alliance Française in Glasgow. Brigitte Guenier is a Teaching Fellow at the University of Edinburgh and at Heriot Watt University.

The talk is open to all, students and staff.
