In a year which takes them to Berlin, New Zealand, London's Wigmore Hall, New York
and Los Angeles, the Laidlaw Music Centre are honoured to present the Takřcs Quartet,
described by the New York Times as “one of the world's greatest string quartets”. Nearly half a century after their creation at the Franz Liszt Academy in Budapest, the Takřcs include in their programme a folk-inspired quartet by Hungary's greatest twentieth century composer, Béla Bartók, as well as music by Haydn and Ravel's colourful and lyrical string quartet in F.
