Syrian Christian Experiences During the Syrian Uprising MECACS Events as part of the University Sanctuary Celebration Week
The Institute of Middle East, Central Asia and Caucasus Studies (MECACS) together with the Council for At-Risk Academics (cara) and the Centre for Syrian Studies (CSS) present Syrian Christian Experiences During the Syrian Uprising as part of the University's Sanctuary Celebration Week 2022.
Featuring presentations from Dr Samir Alabdullah and Dr Nidal Ajaj on ‘The Role of Syrian Christians in the Syrian Conflict' and Dr Mahmoud Zin Alabidin on Syrian cultural heritage during conflict with ‘From destruction to reconstruction and its impact on Syrian cultural identity: A Case Study from Aleppo'.
Discussions will be led by Dr Andreas Schmoller of the University of Linz and the University's Professor Rebecca Sweetman: the Q&A translation will be provided by Asma' Shihadeh of Cara.
