Stay safe online: IT security for students

The impact of covid-19 and subsequent lockdown measures have been a gift to cyber criminals. The more we rely on virtual activities and online communication, more opportunities are presented to hackers.

As a student, you can play your part by educating yourself about common tactics used by cyber criminals and how to respond to them.

This one-hour session will examine current threats to the University and what you can do to safeguard your account and University data. The event will be facilitated by Sam Foster, our IT Security Analyst.

Book a space below and we'll send you a link to the event on the morning of Wednesday 30th. Registration for the event will close on the 29th September at 5pm.

At the end of the session, we'll test your knowledge of phishing emails and ask you to differentiate between a series of authentic University emails and fraudulent attempts to obtain your credentials.
