Startup skills lab: taster session
Curious about entrepreneurship? Thinking of turning an idea into something real? Or just want to develop the skills that will help you navigate an entrepreneurial world no matter your background?
Come along to our Startup Skills Lab Taster Session, delivered in partnership with the University of St Andrews Engineering and Technology Society, and get a sneak peek into our exciting new programme launching this semester.
This informal, interactive session will be your opportunity to:
- Meet the Entrepreneurship Centre team and connect with the Engineering and Technology Society
- Learn about the programme format, topics and what to expect each week
- Hear from a previous Entrepreneurship Centre programme graduate about how the programme helped them grow both personally and professionally
- Ask your questions about the sessions, structure or just what it's really like to go from idea to impact
What is the Startup Skills Lab?
Designed in response to student feedback, the Startup Skills Lab is a hands-on, confidence-building programme to help you explore ideas and develop the practical skills needed to start something new.
Whether you're just curious or already working on something, this programme is for you. You don't need experience or a business idea to join.
Each session focuses on a key entrepreneurial skills including:
- Idea generation and validation
- Understanding customers
- Value creation
- MVP testing
- Go-to-market strategy
- Financial and legal essentials
- Pitching and storytelling
With a flexible, modular format and a focus on doing, the Startup Skills Lab is built to work around you. All sessions will be run in both semesters, giving you more flexibility on when you attend.
