STAR Careers in Print and Broadcast Media Panel

Join STAR on Tuesday 9th March at 8pm for a careers panel on print and broadcast media! We will be welcoming Tim Samuels, Louise Minchin, Amanda Litherland, Sam Peach, and Robbie Collin as guest speakers.

Relaunching The Chronicle as The Saint during his time at St Andrews, Tim Samuels has built a successful career as a documentarian, author and broadcaster. You may have seen his work forming the older people's rock group The Zimmers and tackling masculinity in his book Who Stole My Spear?

Usually seen on the BBC's red sofa, Louise Minchin is well travelled as one of the UK's most respected broadcasters. Having studied Spanish at St Andrews, we're delighted to welcome her back now.

Former editor of The Saint, Robbie Collin has taken his film journalism from St Marys Place to Fleet Street, and will be giving us the lowdown on what to watch in The Telegraph and on Radio 5 Live.

We can thank Amanda Litherland for the 24-hour library in exams week which she helped introduce as the Union's Director of Representation in 2012-13. She now produces and presents across BBC Radio 4 and 4 extra, currently presenting the Podcast Radio Hour.

Having undertaken a traineeship with the BBC after leaving St Andrews, Sam Peach now works as an Assistant Producer across a range of programmes for the BBC's Radio Documentary Unit. Sam has produced across Radio 4, BBC Sounds and the World Service, including Fortunately...with Fi and Jane and The Untold. We're excited to hear more from him about his early career experiences since leaving St Andrews.
