Staff Coffee Morning
St Andrews is a very small town which hosts a relatively small university. However, meeting staff from other schools isn't always easy. Many staff do not live in town and there is no single dedicated space for staff from across the University to meet, converse, and connect.
To this end, several staff, with University support, are looking for ways to enhance a feeling of community at St Andrews. This includes looking at options for a dedicated communal space for staff, alongside a staff association to highlight opportunities for staff (social, sporting, cultural) outside of work.
In that context, the University has agreed to fund a start of semester drop-in coffee morning to provide a space for staff at all career stages and in any role to meet and mingle over coffee and cake, with no obligation to do anything work-related.
The idea is for people to stop by and grab a coffee and treat at their leisure. Pop in for a 15-minute social with coffee before delivering a class or attending a meeting, stay for your lunch hour, or stay a bit longer, depending on the time you have available.
We welcome ideas for future events or ways to develop a staff association, either at the event, or by email. We hope that you'll be able to come along and enable us all to meet new people and make new friends.
