The Music of Cedric Thorpe Davie (1913-1983)

Cedric Thorpe Davie's name is inseparable from St Andrews' 20th century musical history. Ahead of their forthcoming recording of Thorpe Davie's music for Toccata Classics, St Andrews Chamber Orchestra presents a programme of his all-but-forgotten orchestral music including his Festal Overture and his Symphony in C written in 1945, shortly before his appointment as Master of Music at St Andrews.

At 15:15 Neil Price, who has taken on the completion of Colin Scott-Sutherland's unfinished biography of Cedric Thorpe Davie, will give a talk which is free to those attending the concert.
