Shoot St Andrews to Green

Looking for unique experiences over the summer? Do you want to give your town a proper goodbye in your last year?

Many photos of St Andrews are missing from open access maps (redistributable images), so let's take photos of St Andrews' historical buildings and enjoy an ice cream at Jannetta's afterwards.

The Postgraduate Society is collaborating with the IDEA network to host a pilot event to celebrate our University's town and share ice cream with your postgraduate colleagues, so join us for ‘Shoot St Andrews to Green'.

St Andrews is recognised globally for its history and 600+ year old University, but most photos of places are missing from open access maps.

At the one-hour event, ‘Shoot St Andrews to Green', we will use a simple mobile website to add images to places on the shown maps that don't already have one.

Outline for the event:

Meet at 1 pm at the Student Union's main bar, where there will be a 15-minute demonstration about open access maps and how to take good pictures with your phone and upload them to the map.
We will split into groups for an hour and take pictures all over the town.
Meet again at 2.30 pm at Jannetta's to show your photos and meet new people for a chat about your experience.

We would encourage you to publish your photos on social media to celebrate your University's history under the hashtags #STAndrewsOpenAccess #STAndrewsHistory
