Scottish Chamber Orchestra: Alstaedt plays Schumann Cello Concerto £15 to £24.50 (depending on seating); £6 for under 26, students and unemployed; free for under 18; £2 discount for senior citizens

In this special concert to mark the 100th anniversary of the Armistice, Nicholas Altstaedt, presently Artist in Residence at the Hamburg Elbphilharmonie, takes centre stage as both soloist and conductor. In addition to Schumann's ravishing Cello Concerto, the programme includes the World Premiere of Martin Suckling's Meditation, featuring sampled bells from across Scotland and inspired by poet John Donne's Meditation XVIII (1624): "I am involved in mankind, and therefore never send to know for whom the bell tolls; it tolls for thee."
