Following his appearance in the final of BBC Young Musician of the Year in 2004, Adam Walker was appointed Principal Flute of the London Symphony Orchestra at the age of just 21. In this concert he performs Carl Nielsen's ruggledly neo-classical flute concerto. Walker also features in Australian composer Brett Dean's evocation of the mythological sea-goddess Siduri, having performed the world premiere of the work in 2011. Mozart's luminous 'Linz' Symphony, no. 36, completes this splendidly diverse programme.
