Scoticonference 2023 The International Conference on Medieval and Renaissance Scottish Languages, Literature and Culture

Registration is now open for the 17th triennial ICMRSLLC conference – affectionately nicknamed Scoticonference because the acronym is unpronounceable – at the University of St Andrews this summer.

The event is coorganised by Rhiannon Purdie (School of English) and Amy Blakeway (School of History), with conference administrator Samantha Bruce-Benjamin (School of English).

Plenary Speakers for the event will be:

  • Thomas Owen Clancy (University of Glasgow)
  • Bryony Coombs (Edinburgh College of Art, University of Edinburgh)
  • Sebastiaan Verweij (University of Bristol)
  • Ralph Hanna (emeritus University of Oxford) and Alasdair A MacDonald (emeritus University of Groningen) will be running a special plenary workshop on Scholarly Editing.

The full programme is available online.

The conference will be based at St Salvator's Quadrangle with all parallel sessions and the Wednesday evening plenary held there. Plenaries on Thursday and Friday evening will be held in Parliament Hall on South Street, part of St Mary's Quadrangle in the building that houses the James VI Library.

The Principal's reception and conference banquet will take place on the Saturday evening at Lower and Upper College Halls in St Salvator's Quadrangle.

Conference accommodation will be available at Whitehorn residence.
