Sanctuary Research Afternoon Addressing the Impact of Forced Displacement

A Sanctuary Celebration Week will take place from 7-11 March to mark the second anniversary of St Andrews being awarded University of Sanctuary status. This week will provide a space to highlight not only how the University supports Sanctuary Scholars and at-risk academics, but it will also provide a valuable opportunity to bring together colleagues from across the University with an interest in forced displacement research and teaching.

A Sanctuary research afternoon, led by the School of Classics' Prof. Rebecca Sweetman, will take place on Teams from 2 pm on Thursday, 10 March. This session welcomes researchers, including PhD students, who are interested in sharing a 10-minute overview of their existing research related broadly to forced migration/displacement. It aims to spotlight the diversity and interdisciplinarity of the research being carried out at St Andrews and identify potential areas of synergy.

Colleagues interested in participating in or attending this event should contact [email protected] by Thursday, 24 February. Those intending to present should also share the title of their presentation and a brief overview of their research.
