Saints Talk: Professor Don Paterson Why Bad Metaphors Destroy Everything

Join Development for the latest lecture in the Saints Talk Series -- Why Bad Metaphors Destroy Everything by Don Paterson, Professor of Poetry at the University of St Andrews.

Why do you think your future is ahead of you? Is life really a journey? Are people actually things? Professor Paterson will take a cheerfully grim look at how these and other terrible metaphors unconsciously shape our lives and our thinking, how they become so culturally ingrained that we no longer notice them -- and what we can do to fix them.

Don Paterson's poetry has won many awards and he is twice winner of the T. S. Eliot Prize. He is a Fellow of the Royal Society of Literature, the English Association and the Royal Society of Edinburgh.
