Rewrite the Future with Refugee Tales Walk in solidarity. Listen to stories. Imagine a different future.

Join the Museums team for a Refugee Tales Walk, beginning at Craigtoun Country Park and ending at the Wardlaw Museum. Held during Refugee Week, this walk continues the work of Refugee Tales and Professor David Herd, highlighted in the Rewrite the Future exhibition.

Through shared stories and collective activity, we'll raise awareness of the injustices faced by refugees and show support for a more compassionate world. The walk will be followed by an event at the Wardlaw Museum where voices of the refugee experience will be heard and hopes for the future shared.

Getting to Craigtoun Country Park: the Moffat & Williamson No 64 bus runs between St Andrews and Glenrothes bus stations and stops beside Craigtoun Meadows Caravan Park. From the stop it is roughly a 15-minute walk up the hill to Craigtoun Country Park.

The full walk distance is roughly 7km (4.35 miles). There is the option to join the walk on the route. The main walking group will be stopping at Cockshaugh Park for a lunch break between 12pm and 12.30. Anyone is welcome to join the main group from this point for the final 3km (1.8 miles) to the Museum.

This event is part of Rewrite the Future, an exhibition created in collaboration with the St Andrews Centre for Critical Sustainabilities and on display at the Wardlaw Museum, exploring how today's choices can shape a fairer, more sustainable tomorrow. Through bold questions, alternative perspectives and inspiring ideas, Rewrite the Future invites you to imagine new possibilities for the world ahead.

Rewrite the Future is on display from 31 May to 28 September 2025 at the Wardlaw Museum.
