Race Equality Charter action plan drop-in session Taking action to address racial inequality

All staff and students are invited to a Race Equality Charter (REC) action plan drop-in session, hosted by the Equality, Diversity and Inclusion (EDI) team.

The REC is a national charter mark that recognises the advancement of race equality in higher education. St Andrews' REC self-assessment team are currently preparing an application for a Bronze award.

As part of the application, the team are developing an action plan which will support greater inclusivity for Black, Asian and Minority Ethnicity students and staff around key priority areas, including student recruitment and attainment, inclusive teaching practices, staff recruitment and retention, senior representation, progression pathways, leadership training and mentoring, celebrating and recognising the contributions of Black, Asian and Minority Ethnicity students and staff, ethnicity pay gap and wellbeing – working across the University, with the local community and beyond St Andrews.

The team want to ensure that everyone has an opportunity to give their views, so come along and give your comments on the proposed actions over some tea, coffee and cake.
You can also ask a question or share your insights and thoughts on advancing race equality at St Andrews with members of the team.

If you are unable to make this date, other sessions will take place on Tuesday 26 March, 2.00 — 5.00 pm (Students' Association, Committee Room) and Thursday 18 April, 3.00 — 5.00 pm (Medical Sciences Building, Seminar Room 1)
