Public Conversation on the Black Archive in Italian Studies

Join the Department of Italian for a public conversation with Professor Shelleen Greene, associate professor of Cinema and Media Studies at the UCLA School of Theater, Film and Television and current St Andrews Global Fellow, and Mathilde Lyons, PhD student in Italian and History. This conversation will explore topics such as the processes of navigating archives that have deliberately or unintentionally obscured the presence of African and Black individuals within their sources, ethical considerations of archival research and the crucial task of creating and expanding the Black archive.

The event coincides with Black History Month Florence and is open to all students and staff.
