Making its UK debut, Pelagos is an original show by contemporary Italian composer M Micro Bondi.
By drawing a parallel between the experiences of displaced Italians in foreign countries and those of the more recent migrants arriving in Italy, Pelagos offers a reflection on a universal story of departures and encounters in which each of us, in our own way, can recognise themselves.
The show is a multimedia performance of words, music and images, the cornerstone of which, the incidental music, is a compelling experimental composition that translates the conflicting emotions evoked by the narrative: from the syncopated post tonal and dissonant, to melodic expressive and lyrical.
Bondi's score will be performed by members of the University musical community. The event will be followed by a Q&A with the composer.
