Event Details

In this public lecture contemporary British ceramicist and author, Edmund de Waal, will present ‘Bringing it Home; families, objects, stories’.

Over the last 30 years Edmund de Waal’s work has become increasingly focused on identity and exile, migration and home. In exhibitions, installations and books he has tried to map what it means to use porcelain – a material that holds within it a history of migration – and to chart what it means to be part of a family with a complex story of movement across borders.

In this lecture Edmund will look at some of his recent projects in Vienna and Berlin and his forthcoming library of exile to be shown in Venice this summer.
