This virtual seminar will feature research at the intersection of gender studies and studies of labour, broadly defined. Ranging from the early modern period to the era of #MeToo, papers will consider Pierre de Ronsard’s belaboured misogynist poetics; the work of literary collaboration in nineteenth-century Russia; queer counterculture in the Italian 1970s; and recent Cambodian responses to forced marriage under the Khmer Rouge.
