Network of C19 Americanists in the North: Work in Progress workshop

Professor Bridget Bennett (University of Leeds) and Dr Kristen Treen (University of St Andrews) will be presenting new pieces of research in their early stages and workshopping approaches to project development and writing with interested colleagues and students. Professor Bennett's paper will focus on the nineteenth-century frontier novel and its counterpart, the domestic novel; Dr Treen's paper will consider African-American soldiering during the Civil War and rhetorics of touch.

This will be an excellent opportunity for students to see how academic research projects, such as articles and book chapters, might take shape in a conversational workshop format.
