We become entwined in the aftermath of a police killing of a black man, told through the eyes of the people who were there. A bystander who filmed the act, an African-American police officer and a high-school baseballer who is inspired to take a stand. Monsters and Men offers us an interesting, sideways look at how violence can serve as a catalyst rather than a climax and how it can change — and galvanise — a community.
