mine - FREE

An image/text and sound work relating to place, time and land by Jane Brettle – visual artist and Robin Mason — musician. ‘mine' is a two-screen work progressed over several years in relation to two mining locations – a coal mining area of Lothian and a tin mining area of Cornwall. The work views these once ravaged but currently compelling post-industrial sites with reference to their history and their future. Developed in collaboration, the visual elements of the work are linked by a single soundtrack that unites the landscapes; considering the way in which sound/music – in relation to image/ text – effect meaning.

If you wish to see ‘mine', please report to the Music Centre Office on arrival. Mine will generally be available to view during office hours with the exception of the afternoon of Thursday 5 February and the morning of Friday 6 February.
