Menstruation Research Network (Wellcome Trust): Critical Perspectives on Menstruation Free, but please register interest in attending via Dr Camilla Rostvik ([email protected])

The Wellcome Trust funded Menstruation Research Network (MRN) is holding its first of three workshops. The format of the event will be a public programme followed by an academic workshop, and the morning speaker programme is open to anyone who is interested in attending.

This project aims to establish a UK-wide Menstruation Research Network, bringing together experts from sciences and humanities, NGOs, the arts, activists and campaigners, industry and the NHS in order to unify knowledge about the many medical, political, economical, psychological and cultural issues related to menstruation.

The keynote speaker for this first workshop is Professor Sharra Vostral, author of Toxic Shock: A Social History, who will be followed by Chella Quint (Period Positive); Lara Owen (Monash University); Bee Hughes (Liverpool John Moores University); Bettina Bildhauer (School of Modern Languages at St Andrews); and Celia Hudson & Molly Brown (Hey Girls). Please email Dr Camilla Rostvik on [email protected] if you would like to attend.

More information on MRN and a full programme for the event is available on the MRN website. You can also follow the network on Twitter @menstruationRN.
