Lunchtime Concert: History of Jazz Piano Volume 1 with Richard Michael £3, free for Music Centre members

In the first of his three History of Jazz Piano lunchtime recitals, Richard Michael turns his attention to the development of Ragtime into what became known as Stride piano.

Playing from the repertoire of Fats Waller, James P Johnson and Earl Hines, Richard will show the similarities between early jazz and Baroque, ending with the stylings of Art Tatum, who formed the bridge between Stride and Swing -- the focus of the next recital in the series.

Admission: £3, free to Music Centre members
