Lunchtime Concert: John Morran and Fred Freeman

Allan Ramsay – wigmaker, poet, playwright, publisher – dominated Edinburgh cultural life in the first half of the 18th century. Come and encounter Allan Ramsay: Auld Reikie's Sangster, the man who predated Oswald and Burns as a promoter of the Scots lyric, in a concert combining songs and story.

Performers Fred Freeman and John Morran are known for their Scottish traditional music projects including the critically acclaimed Complete Songs of Robert Burns (Linn Records).

Fred Freeman will give a public talk after this concert at14:30 in the Younger Hall Rehearsal Room: 'A fiddler and a poet': Songs of Robert Burns. Admission free, with tea, coffee and scones.
