In Conversation: Sarah Stein Greenberg and Rosemary Scrimgeour

Join Sarah Stein Greenberg, Global Fellow (Education) at St Andrews and Executive Director of the Stanford d.school, and Rosemary Scrimgeour, Co-founder of Building Workshop and FastStart Design Thinking facilitator, as they discuss their lives and experience.

Sarah is a dynamic leader at the forefront of innovation and education: in both her roles she embodies a blend of creativity and expertise. The Stanford d.school, officially known as the Hasso Plattner Institute of Design, is a unique space where students, educators and executives come together to unlock their creative abilities and use Design Thinking -- an innovative creative process to uncover and solve real-world problems. Sarah's leadership at this esteemed institution has propelled it to new heights, fostering a culture of innovation that transcends boundaries and cultivates solutions, and her appointment as a Global Fellow at St Andrews underscores her exceptional standing in the academic world.

Rosemary, based in rural Angus, Scotland, is the co-founder of Building Workshop, a Scottish rural architecture practice focussed on revitalising old buildings -- from abandoned houses to historic castles and farm buildings -- breathing new life into structures to suit their owners' evolving needs. Captivated by human-centred design principles, Rosemary pursued further education at Stanford University to delve into design thinking firsthand, and continues engagement with Stanford as a contractor. Rosemary initiated a Design Thinking programme for the St Andrews Entrepreneurship Centre, now in its third iteration.

Sarah and Rosemary will share their most loved tools and anecdotes that will teach us how to turn curiosity into ideas, and ideas into action. Students present and past, educators, team leaders, and anyone who faces challenges and is curious would benefit from this session which promises an exciting journey of exploration and discovery as Sarah and Rosemary inspire interdisciplinary collaboration and transformative thinking.
