Virtual Museums: Sustainable preservation and promotion of heritage ICOM AVICOM Conference - Free of charge

Join the School of Computer Science for the upcoming International Council of Museums, International Committee for Audiovisual, New Technologies and Social Media (ICOM AVICOM) conference in St Andrews.

The University, as a winning institution at the last festival, has agreed to host this year's event. The international festival, in combination with the AVICOM Annual General Assembly and Conference, will take place on Friday 22 September and Saturday 23 September in St Andrews. St Andrews staff and students are welcome to participate.

Our conference, themed 'Virtual Museums: Sustainable Preservation and Promotion of Heritage', promises to be an engaging event, where delegates from across the globe will share captivating case studies and examples related to virtual museums and sustainability. There will be two dedicated workshops focusing on virtual museums and sustainability.

In addition to the conference, on Friday 22 September, we have an exciting and complimentary event planned: the Sustainable Ceilidh at the Holy Trinity Church Hall. This event promises lively dance sessions and live music, accompanied by VR exhibits where attendees can fully immerse themselves in the world of virtual museums. There will also be an excursion on Sunday 24 September.
