Global Learnings from the New Scots Refugee Integration Strategy Speakers - Alison Phipps, Dan Fisher, Esa Aldegheri, Hyab Yohannes, and Tawona Sithole for the Centre for the Critical Reimagining of Human Rights

In August 2024 the third iteration of the New Scots Refugee Integration Strategy was launched. It was based on 5 years research and evaluation of the operation of the New Scots Strategy since 2014. The new handbook, Global Learnings from the New Scots Refugee Integration Strategy explores what it means to undertake research with refugees and people seeking asylum. In this talk, past and present members of the UNESCO Chair team will present the approach, research and implications of the New Scots Policy and the re-framing of the ways in which integration can be undertaken as a restorative, trauma-informed and anti-assimilationist task.
