Forces in translation

We invite you to our first online Forces in Translation event on Monday 22nd June from 2-3.30

Forces in Translation explores the meeting point of basketry, anthropology and maths, focusing on handwork and mathematical learning.

Event 1 features Mary Crabb working on skewed plaited cubes, Geraldine Jones on Borneo cycloid weaving, and Hilary Burns on cordage.

We'll be reprising the work we have done since our Devon Trials and there will be the opportunity to meet the makers, anthropologist Stephanie Bunn and mathematician Ricardo Nemirovsky, for discussion and a little participation.

This is an experimental event, so numbers are limited to 15. To secure a place and for details please contact Stephanie Bunn [email protected]
